- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 cup wild rice
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/4 lb chopped mushrooms
- 1/4 lb chopped carrots
- 1-1.5 tsp herbs de provence
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 32 oz carton chicken broth
- 1 1/4 cups half-and-half
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 lb smoked chicken breast, chopped up
- 1 Tbsp parsley

- Melt butter, add onions, carrots, and celery. Saute then add mushrooms.
- Add flour and stir well. Gradually add broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Add rice, chicken, salt pepper, mustard, curry powder, parsley, and herbs de provence.
- Allow to heat through then add half-and-half and cream. Simmer up to 2 hours- do not let boil or roux will break.
